How to Make Peace combines practical and theoretical approaches to peacebuilding and is a good basis for those interested in working in conflict/postconflict environment in the frame of the international community.

Cultural Anthropology vs Peacebuilding

explains the essence of peacemaking, peacekeeping, peacebuliding and confidence-building processes against the background of theoretical approaches to ethnic/ethno-social/tribal conflicts.

International Community and Peacekeeping Missions

deals with efforts of the international community in conflict and post-conflict countries, and in particular with peacebuilding and security activities of most important and most influential international organizations.

Theory of Ethno-social Conflict

goes from the roots of conflicts over conflict dynamics up to conflict resolution. It goes from cooperation over competition up to conflict by using case studies from the field.

Comparative Study of European and African Conflicts

goes through space and time, trying to explain why ethnicity is / is not a key factor. The audience can benefit from “ex-Czechoslovak” views, tematic films, documentaries and discussions.

Wednesday Practical Block

is focused on field skills and abilities: field reconnaissance, maps & GPS, off-road driving & radio communication, camera under stress, crisis & emergency situations, first aid, outdoor survival and how-to-apply session.
